OS/2 Warp
TCP/IP Winsock software
Winsock software

The TCP/IP software in the IAK can be used to run OS/2 and Windows TCP/IP software at the same time while connected to your provider through the IAK.

At the installation of the IAK everything should be configured alright to run OS/2 and Winsock programs, if they don't then check:

  1. MAKE SURE THE CONNECTION TO YOUR PROVIDER IS WORKING FOR THE OS/2 APPS BEFORE PROCEEDING
  2. in autoexec.bat there is a line : 'SET ETC=C:\TCPIP\DOS\ETC'
  3. in autoexec.bat PATH line C:\TCPIP\DOS\BIN is in front
  4. there is no other WINSOCK.DLL in \WINDOWS or \WINDOWS\SYSTEM, if there are move them to another directory or just delete them
  5. in \TCPIP\DOS\ETC there is a file 'resolv' which has the same info as in \TCPIP\ETC\RESOLV
  6. in CONFIG.SYS there are lines saying:
  7.       DEVICE=c:\tcpip\bin\vdostcp.vdd
          DEVICE=c:\tcpip\bin\vdostcp.sys
          RUN=c:\tcpip\bin\vdosctl.exe
  8. in the windows program settings under DOS devices you should see c:\tcpip\bin\vdostcp.sys
DO NOT USE TRUMPET WINSOCK (TCPMAN) -- USE THE IAK!
